Osgood Schlatter's disease is a condition that usually occurs in active growing children. The powerful thigh muscles attach just below the knee, in growing children this bone is soft and the force of the thigh muscles acting on it can cause inflammation and swelling. In sever cases we see fracturing of the growth plate and this condition should always be assessed.
